Hanna Newman Associates Pty. Ltd. commenced in 1985 in a small office in Mortdale. The Principal, Richard Hanna, formed the company after being a director of a larger partnership at North Shore for some 7 years. Since 1985 the company has gradually grown and from its early beginning at Mortdale it moved to a larger premises at Hurstville and is now located at 19 The Strand, Penshurst.

In recent years South Coast office has been established in Coombe Street, Wollongong.
